On Sunday, May 17, 2009 Farron's Gourmet Butcher Shop
hosted a Rib BBQ and raised over $4000.00 in support of Camp Brombal. Camp
Brombal is an annual one week camp in July coordinated and staffed by Windsor
Police Officers to benefit children from the City of Windsor who wouldn't
otherwise have the opportunity to attend a summer camp.

Farron's Gourmet Butcher Shop raises money
to send a minimum of 40 kids, approximately 10 years of age, to experience a
week at Camp Brombal. The Camp allows disadvantaged kids in our community enjoy
a typical camp experience. Windsor Police Officers volunteer their time to run
the camp. The last day of camp, is Ted Farron Day. Ted spends the day
with the kids and reveals a big surprise for them at the end of the day. A big
kid at heart himself, Ted looks forward to this day every year.
A boy
approached Ted at the boxing club one day asked him if he was Mr. Farron. Ted
replied that yes, he was. The boy said he just want to thank him and told him
the week at camp was the best week of his life.
Camp Brombal opened in
2003 and since that time has supported more than 300 boys and girls between the
ages of 10 12. The camp, which costs about $17,500 to run, relies solely
on donations from the community and is located on the Arner Townline in Essex
County.
If you would like to help Farron's Gourmet Butcher Shop with
their continuing effort to support Camp Brombal, email Ted at
